Become a Member

Membership in PASD is open to lawyers in good standing with the State Bar of California. Members of PASD (Probate Attorneys of San Diego) enjoy an assortment of benefits to help them become better legal professionals while assisting with advocacy in San Diego’s probate courts.  PASD offers the following categories of membership: California Attorney Members, Law Student Members  and Affiliate Members.

California Attorney Members:
Any person who is an active member of the State Bar of California may apply to be a California Attorney Member of PASD. This includes law school faculty with active member status with the State Bar of California. California Attorney Members are entitled to vote and/or run for the PASD’s Board of Directors. California Attorney Members may also run for or be appointed to the position of a section, committee, or hold other leadership positions within PASD.

Law Student Members:
Any law school student or law school graduate who has not been admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction.   Law Student Members are not eligible to vote and/or run for PASD’s Board of Directors

Affiliate Members
Private professional fiduciaries. real estate agents, investment advisers, accountants, or any other professionals who work in the estates and trusts community.  Affiliate Members are not eligible to vote and/or run for PASD’s Board of Directors.

We offer committee membership opportunities, networking events and perhaps most importantly, an affordable California State Bar Certified CLE program.

All applications for membership shall be referred to the Secretary who shall verify that the applicant is qualified for the category of membership for which he or she applies. All attorneys who are active members of the California State Bar ( with an active California State Bar number ) are eligible for Attorney Membership, With respect to all other membership categories, PASD reserves the right to consider each application on a case by case basis. PASD may accept or reject these applications for any reason not prohibited by law
